Wednesday March 27, 2019
12:00pm – 1:00PM (Central) – 1:00PM – 2:00PM (Eastern)
With the recent restrictions on psychotropic medications, facilities find themselves struggling with a resurgence in unwanted resident behaviors that in the past may have been managed more by anti-psychotics. In every facility across the country, there is in every unit, that everyone sighs when the light is lit or when staff are assigned to their care. It’s that one person that is hard to please…unreasonable…or has periods of yelling, screaming and throwing things.
It isn’t all of the time and there is no way that you can predict the behavior. Instead of avoiding those residents, a progressive approach can improve the situation.
